My current Sivs obsession (lol)

As most who read my works know, my reason for writing - and for most anything I do - is kids. I adore kids and aim to reveal truths of life by channeling both their blunt face-value perspectives as well as their ability to imagine, to wonder, and to consider. Children are teachable, thought-provoking, excitable, and never pull punches because they've not yet developed a need to. The skill of "tact" is something we gradually incorporate as we grow with an increased wish to integrate into society while facing as few quarrels as possible along the way.

But children generally don't have to worry about quarrels and clashing personalities the same way adults do. Due to responsibilities, adults are forced to concern themselves with such things. Paychecks or livelihood often depend on social interactions and connections, so the stakes are higher. Adults also find a rhythm by their adulthood in which they decide to work and interact with the world, that solidifies more with each year until it becomes a stubbornness - which can be a good thing for the thick skin it develops, but it can also manifest a closed mind and a resistance toward anything new or inventive or different.

And so, I aim to revive the experimental wonder of a child into the minds of adults who would read my works.

Now, why do I give all this exposition?

Well, because I recognize that my last two posts have warning labels on them.

If you have read my short pieces regarding Sivs, you'll notice the darker themes. He's a "pure bloodlust" character created unintentionally by Mikal during his more villainous days. He's not a main character in the "Mikal's Child" series, but he does show up on a few occasions and serves as a constant reminder to Mikal about what he allowed himself to become. If Mikal never fell the way he did, Sivs would never have existed the way he does.

Honestly, Sivs would have likely been a great artist and craftsman. Sure, he wouldn't have lived as long (probably... I'm actually not entirely certain how long Sivs ends up living. I've been more focused on Mikal and Kina, and Sivs is difficult at times to see, due to his chaotic nature), but he would have certainly excelled in crafting. He likes making jewelry, for instance. And later on in life, he enjoys embroidery too.

I don't think I'll ever write a full book about just Sivs, in part because it would be quite bloody almost all the time, but also because he's very one-note for most of his early childhood. If he loves something or someone, he rips it open. Plain and simple. Adorable, even, though in a definitively twisted and macabre way by standard society (and you are entirely free to disagree with me haha~ I know that you cannot see what I see except by what I write down... but I do find him endearing). In everything he does, he's sincere. And I guess that's what I love about him.

So since I likely will not devote a full novel just to him, I figured I may as well write a few scenes from his life that I found most intriguing.

Personally, I found his birth and existence beyond it the most interesting. He wasn't the only "pure bloodlust" child to be born from Mikal's soul, but he was the only one who ever lived past five years old, so far as I've seen. I've witnessed his life up through 19 and I do know he lives at least a bit past that (again, I'm not sure how long he fully lives... The ending of the world of Rhiad has not yet been shown to me, but I'm working on discovering that so hopefully soon I'll witness that answer).

Oh. On that note, I have in fact seen the ending of the worlds of Al'Cir! ^^ I'm excited to share those events in other novels one day, but those books are the most difficult I've found to write, so far. I've been writing them since I was 7, and there's just so much I want to write about them, but I've not pinned down the best way to do it. I figure I'll learn more as a writer, develop my skills as I publish the other stories, and hopefully one day level up enough to present the tales of Al'Cir.

Well, anyway... It's nice to be back again writing. I've missed it.

Life and what-have-you.

I hope to just write full-time one day. It's what I most love to do (aside from directing). Maybe soon.

Once this first "Mikal's Child" novel is complete, I'll be hunting for the best editor and literary agent I can find. Haha. Wish me luck!

And, thanks for reading.

Never lose your wonder.
